Verrin
Banks, brokers and the only lawful market on the isle. Weapons stay sheathed inside the seawall — the wardens see to it.
Kaellum is a living shard raised on the old bones of Ultima Online: a hand-shaped island of drowned keeps, salt marsh and lamplit towns, where the map is finite, the loot is real, and nothing you build is undone by a patch note.
Come as a smith, a necromancer of poor reputation, a highwayman on the Kingsroad. The world keeps no class for you and no quest marker either.
The old kingdom of Kaellum sat on a plain that is now open water. What remains above the tide is an archipelago of its hinterland: three large islands, a scatter of holms, and the tops of towers that once held a court.
Nobody rules it. The surviving orders — the salt-wardens, the Ashfoot caravans, the guild of grave-lawyers at Verrin — hold what they can and sell the rest. Players fill in everything between: towns, roads, feuds, cartels, monasteries with strange ideas.
The world is authored, not generated. Every dungeon is placed by hand, every settlement has a reason to be where it is, and the ongoing story is written around what players actually do to each other.

Banks, brokers and the only lawful market on the isle. Weapons stay sheathed inside the seawall — the wardens see to it.

Nine levels of flooded palace under the shoals. The lowest is opened once a season, and it has never yet been cleared.

Grassland, tar pits and caravan roads. Claimable ground for anyone willing to hold it, which is the whole difficulty.
Kaellum is a hybrid: the classic skill system and full-loot risk of the old shards, with the quality-of-life the last twenty years taught us. You are never punished for not knowing an undocumented rule.
Everything below is fixed policy. If it changes, it changes with a month's notice and a written reason.
| Skill system | Classic 700-point cap, 7 skills, no classes. Skill gain is faster below 70. |
| Loot on death | Full loot in the wilds and dungeons. Blessed newbie kit and one insured item. |
| PvP | Open outside guard zones. Murder counts stand for two weeks and are public. |
| Safe ground | Verrin, Little Holm and all player towns that pay the warden tithe. |
| Housing | Placeable on open ground, decays after 45 days idle. No plot limits per account. |
| Accounts | One free account, three characters. Donations buy cosmetics and nothing else. |
Staff play the world's antagonists live. Nothing is instanced, nothing repeats, and outcomes carry into the next season.
